Courtside at Carousel: free-play NBA2K in the heart of Westfield
Ground Zero Gaming teamed up with Westfield to bring Courtside at Carousel to life — a free, walk-up gaming activation built around NBA 2K24 in a custom basketball arena in the middle atrium of Perth’s largest shopping Centre, Westfield Carousel.
Designed for the last week of the school holidays, Courtside created a high-energy “stop and watch” moment for the centre, while keeping the experience approachable for first-timers and competitive enough for mates who wanted to go head-to-head.
What we delivered
A free-to-play NBA 2K24 experience on Xbox inside a purpose-built basketball arena
On-floor staff to onboard players, manage sessions, and keep play fair and flowing
A simple, high-throughput format that worked for walk-ups (families, teens, groups of mates)
Extra engagement moments across the week, including community and partner add-ons (police officer play sessions, trading cards, giveaways, and centre-wide activity tie-ins)
