Rocket League hits Forrest LIVE at Forrest Chase

We’ve just wrapped up our very first public gaming activation - and what a way to kick things off.

Across 11-13 October, Ground Zero Gaming joined Forrest LIVE, a three-day festival run by Forrest Chase to help activate the Perth CBD. We brought Rocket League into the heart of the city as a free, walk-up experience designed to be easy to join, fun to watch, and accessible for all ages.

➡️The partners who helped bring it to life

Forrest LIVE was a true collaborative effort, and we were proud to deliver the gaming experience alongside: Forrest Chase, Vodafone, JB Hi-Fi, MSI and Ice Break.

➡️What we delivered

The goal was simple: create an interactive gaming moment that worked in an outdoor festival environment - high energy, quick to understand, and built for participation.

Across the weekend, our activation featured:

  • Rocket League free-play on MSI gaming laptops

  • A Hot Wheels remote control Rocket League setup (a crowd favourite)

  • Giveaways, including a Hot Wheels Rocket League set

  • Ice Break product giveaways to keep the energy up

➡️Why Rocket League works so well outdoors

Rocket League is one of the best titles for festivals and public spaces because it’s instantly watchable. Even if you’ve never played before, you can understand what’s happening in seconds ‘ which means people stop, watch, and then want a turn.

That’s exactly what we saw at Forrest Chase: quick games, big reactions, and plenty of friendly rivalry - plus heaps of people hanging around to spectate before jumping in.

➡️Planning a festival or outdoor activation?

Forrest LIVE was our first step into community gaming experiences - and it’s shown us just how powerful gaming can be when it’s delivered in a real-world, public setting.

If you’re programming a festival, precinct event or outdoor series and want an activation that draws people in and keeps them engaged, our team can design and deliver a gaming experience to suit your space, audience and objectives.
